NACD First Vice President Brent Van Dyke attended a RCPP press event and tour on May 7. The event took place near Espanola, New Mexico and was attended by the East Rio Arriba, Soil and Water Conservation District and NRCS Chief Jason Weller. Attendees toured the oldest acequias in the nation--a traditional water management system dating back to Spanish colonial times. The USDA NRCS program has helped fund acequias and other irrigation systems through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).
