The undersigned organizations support the passage of H. Con. Res. 30 and S. Con. Res. 10 that recognize the importance of soil health and locally led conservation using voluntary incentive-based farm bill conservation programs. The resolutions specifically support the designation of 2015 as the International Year of Soils and note 2015 as the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Soil Conservation Act on April 27, 1935. Additionally, the resolutions encourage public participation in activities celebrating the importance of soils to the United States and support soil conservation through partnerships with local soil and water conservation districts and landowner participation in farm bill conservation programs.
